| Description | Newscuttings from 'Standard and Diggers News', reporting the formation of the Geological Society of South Africa on 4 February 1895, and also accounts of the first year of the organisation's meetings with a small amount of cuttings for 1896-1897. A number of the cuttings have lithographed likenesses of the officers of the new society. At the back of the volume is bound an issue of the 'Transactions of the Geological Society of South Africa', parts I & II, February-March 1896. |
