Administrative HistoryAustin was in Russia & Siberia during 1847-1848, and the map may have been drawn during the latter year.
ProvenanceConfusingly, the items are not included in the List of Donations for 1862, and only the section is mentioned in the paper's entry in the 'Proceedings' for 3 December 1862. However in the volume 'Scientific Papers Read' (GSL/COM/P/2/1) it records the paper along with 'Map & Section' being received on 24 November 1862.
