Within the volume are pasted news cuttings of articles either by or referring to T H Huxley, 1869-1900, notably on Lord Kelvin's estimation of the age of the Earth. Volume also contains two letters addressed to Clodd from Huxley, 6 Nov 1894, and John Perry (1850-1920), 1 Oct 1901 on the same subject.
Administrative HistoryVolume belonged to the depositor's father H F King who is likely to have purchased it when he was at Cambridge in the 1930s. The volume was previously owned by Edward Clodd (1840-1930), an English banker, writer and anthropologist who wrote a biography of Huxley in 1897.
