| Administrative History | The annual Sir Peter Kent Lecture, named after Sir Percy Edward 'Peter' Kent (1913-1986) was instituted in 1990 as an industrial lecture aimed at promoting earth science to a wider audience beyond the geological community and also to encourage sponsorship from outside the geological sector. Nowadays the focus of the event is on science policy matters. |
