DescriptionStudent Instructional Tour to central England to Scotland, 1955. Comprises: typescript report to Council, including costs, by tour leader G Vernon Wilson; copy of an offprint of Vernon Wilson's, 'The East Midlands Ironstone Fields', Abbott Memorial Lecture, 1953, University of Nottingham, given out as part of the tour [see expenses sheet]; illustrated booklet for the ironstone quarrying machine: 'W1400. The biggest walking dragline in the world incorporating the great jib', Stewarts and Lloyds Ltd, [1951-1952], which was given to participants on the trip [see Wilson's report].

Also, two group photographs of participants on the tour, [August 1955]. One is a digital scan of a photograph taken in Scunthorpe. The other is a modern reproduction showing the group examining exposures in the Corallian escarpment on the way from Pickering to Newcastle.
