Administrative History | The Research Funds Committee, later Sub-Committee for Research Funds, later Research Grants Panel, recommends to Council suitable candidates to be awarded the various research funds at the disposal of the Society. The Daniel Pidgeon and Gloyne funds originally had their own committees, see: COM/SP/3, however these gradually merged over time with other funds to create one Research Funds Committee.
The amount awarded from the Society's research funds is modest, and is intended to be used for a specific period of fieldwork. Successful candidates are requested to produce a short report on the funded project. |
