Administrative History | In 1845 the 'Proceedings of the Geological Society of London' [not to be confused with the later 'Abstracts of the Proceedings of the Geological Society of London' which was issued from 1857] was effectively replaced by the 'Quarterly Journal of Geological Society of London'. After February 1859 Resident [residing within a 20 mile radius of London] and Compounding Fellows [Fellows who had paid all their annual fees upfront in one lump sump] were sent issues free and, after November 1859, this was widened to include Non Resident Fellows [fellows residing more than 20 miles outside London]. In 1861 free issues began to be sent to Foreign Members. |
