Administrative History | Working party, established by Council in June 1995, to define the nature and character of geology as a discipline in the modern world in order to advise the Society on its policies and future strategies in relation to its overall role, its membership, its role as a professional body and matters concerning the education of geologists. Chaired by Duncan Murchison, the membership included also the Vice Presidents, Professor Dick Selley (who originated the idea) and the Executive Secretary.
The study was one of a series working groups commissioned at the time by Council to help formulate Society policy, ie, the Working Party on Higher Education and the Vice President's Report on the Organisation and Structure of the Society. |
