Administrative History | At a meeting of Council, 5 January 1859, it was resolved to form a Special Museum Committee, its purpose to bring the Museum into order. Leonard Horner was to be the Convenor, aided by Joseph Prestwich, Gen Joseph Ellison Portlock and Nevil Maskelyne. Due to, mostly, Horner's dedication, by the mid 1860s the Museum was at last under control and reasonably accessible. |
