Description	Obligation Signature Book marked 'Prior to Charter' containing the signatures of Ordinary Members of the Geological Society of London prior to the awarding of the Royal Charter in 1825. Initially arranged according to membership number (and therefore containing most of the signatures of the original founders) but after number 189, the signatures appear mostly chronologically based on their election date. Includes signatures of Prince Leopold of Saxe Coburg and Prince Christian Frederick of Denmark at the front.
