Translation:
To Mr. Bunbury, Secretary of the Geological Society of London. Caen, 6 March 1850 Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of a box containing eight volumes, four of which are entitled "The Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society of London," and the other four are entitled "Proceedings of the Geological Society of London." The parcel was sent by Mr. Phillips Brams. I have given notice to the Linnean Society of Normandy of this dispatch at its session of the 4th of this month; I deposited the volumes in its library at the same time. The Linnean Society has charged me to express my thanks to the Geological Society of London, and to send in exchange the Memoirs published by our Society. They are composed of 1) 4 volumes in 8° with an atlas in 4°; 2) four volumes in 4°; 3) the first printed memoir which will begin the 9th volume - plus some pamphlets that M. de Caumont begs the geological society to accept. I have sent these volumes to the bookbinder ; I will send them on the 10th of this month by the steamer from Caen to Havre, with a destination for London, addressed to Mr. Bunbury, secretary of the Geological Society of London. The Linnean Society of Normandy urges the Geological Society to continue the good offices of its subsequent bulletins which are and will be of great interest to those of its members who deal with geology and palaeontology. The Linnaeian Society, for its part, will send its future publications to the Geological Society of London. I have the honor to be with the highest consideration, Sir, your most devoted servant Eudes-Deslongchamps Secretary of the Linnaean Society
