Description | Secretary's In Letters: John Moxon CLABON, London, 19 Nov 1853. Re: As he is unable to propose a motion at the AGM on the care of the Museum [see: GSL/L/R/13/48], withdraws it, however reiterates his opinion on the poor state of the collection and if the Society no longer wishes to retain it, the collection should be donated to the British Museum or the Museum of Practical Geology where it can be properly exhibited to the public; thinks a competent person who could dedicate even one hour per day to its care would result in a slight improvement; hopes the Council will direct the curator and Museum Committee to do what is necessary or he will take every opportunity to bring the subject to other Fellows' attention. |
