DescriptionSecretary's In Letters: from Henry Thomas DE LA BECHE, Geological Survey, London, to Leonard Horner Re: Formally requests that Joseph Dalton Hooker should be able to visit the Society's Museum to study fossil plants, 1 April 1846.
Administrative HistoryThis letter dates from the single year when the explorer Joseph Dalton Hooker secured temporary employment as botanist for the Geological Survey in 1846. The Museum was for the use of Fellows only, hence the request, however Hooker was elected a Fellow of the Society a month later.
