CustodialHistory | The letters were bound into a guardbook which had degraded leaving the letters damaged and dirty. A partial, very brief catalogue was produced in the 1980s leaving out acknowledgements or other seemingly generic correspondence from other organisations. These have now been reinstated and the numbering changed back to their original 19th century references. Some items were unnumbered so are given the closest letter number with a 'b'.
Since the 1980s cataloguing a number of the letters were torn and lost parts of the information which was originally recorded. |
