Administrative History | According to an explanation by Leonard Horner at the front of the volume, the Society held a large number of specimens but they were deficient in a number of areas. Receiving a small grant from Council, the Museum Committee acquired around 200 specimens from Dr Krantz of Bonn which filled in the gaps. This part of the collection was to comprise of only igneous and non fossiliferous stratified rocks, the others could be examined alongside the fossil collections. |
