Description
A pair of Lambay Porphyry campana urns, late 18th Century, on drum socles with Carrara marble collars, height 12ins.
The porphyry of the green vase from Lambay, a volcanic island in the Irish Sea, the red vase may be from Donegal.
CustodialHistory
Up until 23 May 2016, the vases sat on the fireplace in the Fellows Room. When the room was changed to accommodate the Royal Academy staff, the vases were removed for safe keeping.
