| Description | Two wooden [?mahogany] double ballot boxes, 19th century. Each box has two funnel/turned openings with drawers underneath, allowing the voter to choose yes or no. Each has a brass carry handle. Both the funnels on one of the boxes is damaged. One key, removed from the general key store, has been placed in one of the funnels of the broken box.
A third ballot box, made of varnished pine/deal, late 19th/early 20th C? The box has two brass handles and a slot at the top for ballots which was used during the voting at AGMs. |
| Provenance | The more modern ballot box, which looks like it was custom made for the use of the Society, was transferred to the Archives in June 2026 as the new voting systems are entirely online and the box was no longer needed. |
