| Description | Research into the donations of specimens to the Geological Society Museum by Brian W Page of the Geological Curators Group between 1976-1978, comprising:
1) Correspondence, 1976-1978, including two draft typescript list of donors compiled by Adrian Morter in December 1972.
2) Mss draft listings of donors, arranged alphabetically with each page relating to an individual, giving the date and brief description of the specimens given. 3 files
3) Card index of donors, arranged alphabetically, giving the dates of donation only. |
| Administrative History | Research conducted by Brian W Page of the Geological Curator's Group between 1976-1978. The majority of the sources for the donor lists were taken from the published lists which appeared in the 'Transactions of the Geological Society of London' and the 'Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society'. Information was also gathered from a number of the mss Museum registers which are now held by the Natural History Museum.
It should be noted, however, that the listing is not comprehensive possibly because not all the mss registers were consulted. |
