| Description | Correspondence, itineraries, maps and some notes [possibly slide references], May 1985-March 1988, relating to Dan McKenzie's tenure as Rutherford Memorial Lecturer of the Royal Society when he lectured on "Mantle convection and the tectonics of oceans and continents" to academic institutions in Australia and New Zealand, 22 February -26 March 1988. Most of the correspondence concerns arrangements for McKenzie's lecture tour, but includes a typescript draft of the paper: Kennett, B L N & J R Bowman, "The velocity structure and heterogeneity of the upper mantle" [later published in 'Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors', vol 59 (1990), pp134-144] with covering letter by the author Brian Kennett, [?March 1988]. |
