DescriptionManuscript account of the unusual displacement of a large boulder, by ?John Kenneth, [1799]. The account describes how on the night of either 8th or 9th of February 1799, a large marker stone, thought to be 216 cubic feet in size, which stood between the lands of Arthur Forbes, Esq, of Culloden, and Lord Moray was transported over a distance of 270 paces leaving a furrow in the sand about a foot deep. The author claims that it was caused by the wind.
ProvenanceFound during stockcheck in August 2014 along with very brief listing by previous archivist dated 11 Oct 1982. He noted that it was found in amongst the Greenough collection.
