Description | Horace Bolingbroke WOODWARD - 'History of the Geological Society of London', a volume of notes and cuttings, 1907-1909, used as research to compile the Geological Society's centenary history. The contents are mostly short biographical notes about individuals (alphabetically arranged) mainly taken from secondary sources but do include extracts of letters or notes written by others such as James Mitchell on Edward Charlesworth's failed attempt to get into scientific publishing [c.1837-1840]. |
