| Administrative History | The medals were part of the Fermor Gem/Mineral collection held by the School of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol which was purchased from the widow of Lewis Fermor in 1956. The collection has recently come to light again in 2022, the project led by Steve Sparks who is Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences and ex President of the Society. The medals do not fit in with the geological nature of the collection and as the Society already holds Fermor's remaining archive, they were transferred. |
