Description | Diary covering 3rd November 1902-19th April 1903 (Madhya Pradesh) and 17th October 1903-8th May 1904 (Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh); Sir Lewis Leigh Fermor's first two field work seasons for the Geological Survey of India.
Almost daily entries are made throughout each period, in which Fermor records his movements and activities while travelling around India. Details are given of shooting expeditions, weather conditions, evening entertainment, local geology, activities of the 'natives', food, and local flora and fauna.
