Description	Coloured drawings made by unknown hand, copying four horizontal sections originally drawn by John Farey between 1807-1812: London to Brighton [c.1810]; Brampton,Chesterfield to Bolsover, Langwith [c.1810]; Ashover to Trusthorpe [c.1810]; and Isle of Wight to Petersfield, April 1812.

Administrative History	John Farey is made a series of geological sections which were never published during his lifetime. However hand-drawn copies were circulated amongst the geological community. Farey's London to Brighton section, completed in 1807, was the first detailed cross-section to be prepared in England.
Provenance	Three of the sections were presented to the Society by George Bellas Greenough, 2 November 1810.
