DescriptionEngraving by unknown artist entitled 'The Pearl, weighing 1800 grains', [c.1818]. Now known as the 'Hope Pearl', it is one of the largest saltwater pearls in existence and named after Henry Philip Hope who acquired it for his collection.

ProvenancePresented to the Society, 5 June 1818 by William Cole, Esq, of Barnyards Inn (OM/1/2, p25). Note: item has been annotated that it was given by Viscount Cole, however this is incorrect.
