Fossils depicted include: ventriculites; fish & fish teeth; crocodile teeth; Sussex/Petworth Marble; coprolite. Figure 14 in the centre is an Iguanodon tooth.

Administrative HistoryThe plate was published in 1824 as part of an antiquarian history of Lewes and contains the first published depiction of an Iguanodon tooth. However Mantell was working on plates for the work from at least 1823. This may be an early proof as some of the numbers are reversed.

The item was folded and posted to Charles Lyell.
