DescriptionWatercolour of a single scale specimen of the fossil fish Lepidotus laevis Agassiz, probably by Joseph Dinkel, [1832-1843]. According to Agassiz's published text, the specimen was found in the Portlandian limestone from the environs of Solothurn, Switzerland, and communicated to him by Professor Hugi.

Note: lightly pencilled '4' on drawing.
