DescriptionWatercolour and pencil drawing of the tail section of the fossil fish Pholidophorus macrocephalus Agassiz [Siemensichthys macrocephalus Solnhofen], by Charles Weber, [1831]. Found in Solnhofen, from Munich Museum. According to Agassiz's published text, the specimen was from the lithographical limestone of Solnhofen.

Weber's signature also states '53' but this appears to be a running count of drawings made rather than a date. At the top of the drawing is the draft genus [Familia: ??], but it has been erased.
