DescriptionWatercolour and pencil drawings of two views of the fin spine, with ink outline section, of the fossil fish Asteracanthus acutus Agassiz, possibly by Joseph Dinkel, [1834-1838]. According to the printed text, the specimen was found in the clay above the cornbrash on the banks of the Ouse by Castle Miles near Bedford. The drawing is marked 'Goodhall' [Henry Hall Goodhall], but the printed text states that Goodhall forwarded the specimen from the Bedford Museum.
