Description | Watercolour studies of the tooth of the fossil fish Pleurodus Rankinei, by Joseph Dinkel, [1841-1843]. Found in the Coal Measures, Lanarkshire, Scotland, from the collection of the Carluke Committee.
[Note: the drawing is annotated 'Committee Carluke' but it is unclear what this means. However it was common for Agassiz to name specimens after their collectors, and as one is clearly named after Dr Daniel Reid Rankin it may be that it is from his collection.]
