Description	Watercolour studies of the scales from the fossil fish Graptolepis ornatus Agassiz, by Joseph Dinkel, [1841-1843]. Probably found in the Coal Measures, Carluke, Scotland, from the collection of Dr Daniel Rankin.

Administrative History	Collected as part of the research for Louis Agassiz's 'Recherches sur les Poissons Fossiles' (1833-1843) but never published. Daniel Rankin lent Agassiz a large number of specimens, which were drawn by Dinkel in London.
