Administrative HistoryCollected/drawn as part of the research for Louis Agassiz's 'Recherches sur les Poissons Fossiles' (1833-1843/1844).

Francis Theophilus Marie Regley (1777-1833) was assistant naturalist in the department of geology at the Muséum Royal d'Histoire Naturelle [Royal Museum of Natural History], Paris. Regley's private collection contained a number of specimens from the fossil cabinet of Barthélemy Faujas de Fond (1741-1819). On Regley's death in 1833, the collection passed to Félix Carteret, who became a member of the Société Géologique de France in 1835..
