DescriptionLithograph 'Fossil Fish in Slate from Engi in the Canton Glarus, in Switzerland, in the Possession of Lord Cole August 1829', by George Scharf, printed by Charles Hullmandel.

The specimen, now at the Natural History Museum, ref: P4123, is the holotype of Palaeorhynchus latum, having been described and figured by Agassiz in his 'Recherches...' (1833-1844), vol 5, pl 32. It is now referred to as Palaeorhynchus glarisianus Blainville.
