Description
Watercolour and pencil study of the skeleton of an almost complete specimen of an unidentified fossil fish, by Jacques Bourkhardt, 1841. From the collection of Wilhelm Philipp Schimper, Mulhouse.
The specimen may be that referred to by Agassiz in his introduction to the collections he used for his 'Recherches', which he states was a new species found in the department of Haut-Rhin.
