Description | Rough, watercolour sketch of a virtually complete skeleton of the fossil fish Microdon hexagonus Agassiz, by Charles Weber, [1831]. Found in Solnhofen, from Munich Museum.
Note: captioned 'Familia Scomberoidei. Tribus: Pyncodontes Agassiz', 'Stromateus de Bl.' Also Weber's signature also states 'fecit 31' but this appears to be a running count of drawings made rather than a date. On reverse is written 'Double'. |
