DescriptionPencil drawing, with section, of the fin spine of the fossil fish Hybodus Crassus, by unknown artist, [1831-1843]. From the Museum of Stuttgart. On the reverse is an aborted attempt at a watercolour of the fin spine in section.

According to the published text, the specimen was from the ferruginous oolite of Wasseralfingen, Germany, and first communicated by Mr Jaeger at a meeting of naturalists in Heidelberg in 1829.
