DescriptionDrawings and paintings of fossil fish principally from the collection Sir Philip de Malpas Grey Egerton, although there are a small number from the collection of William Willoughby Cole, 3rd Earl of Enniskillen. Apart from one drawing by Charles Weber, all are by the artist Joseph Dinkel. Only one drawing is dated.
Administrative HistoryThe drawings in this folio were commissioned by Louis Agassiz as part of the research and artwork for his 'Recherches sur les Poissons Fossiles' (1833-1843/1844) & 'Monographie des Poissons Fossiles du Vieux Grès Rouge' (1844/1845). Most appear not to have been published.
ProvenanceIn the possession of William Willoughby Cole, 3rd Earl of Enniskillen, who presented them to the Society in December 1876. [see LR19/202].
