DescriptionWatercolour study of an almost complete specimen of the fossil fish Pleuropholis crassicaudus Egerton, by Joseph Dinkel, 1853. Found by Mr W Brodie of Swanage in the 'Insect Bed', Durdlestone Bay [in bed 106 in Mr Austen's table of the Purbeck strata], in the collection of the Rev Peter Bellinger Brodie.

Also, thumbnail ink sketch, possibly of same species, by unknown artist, [nd].
