DescriptionWatercolour of an imperfect specimen of the fossil fish Platysomus macrurus Agassiz, probably by Joseph Dinkel, [1848-1849]. According to the printed text, the specimen was found in the magnesian limestone of Ferry Hill, and was under the care of William King, curator of the Museum at Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
