Description | Watercolour of, with scale detail, of an almost complete specimen [missing tail] of the fossil fish Tetragonolepis ovalis Agassiz, by Joseph Dinkel, [1834-1844]. From the Lias, Ohmden, in the collection of William Willoughby Cole, 3rd Earl of Enniskillen. Unpublished
Note: 'Aechmodus' has been added in pencil. |
Administrative History | Likely to have been created as part of the research for Agassiz, J L R. 'Recherches sur les Poissons Fossiles' (1833-1843/1844), but not published. In the paper by Philip de Malpas Grey Egerton, "Postscript to Palichthyologic Note, No. 4" Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society, vol 10 (1854), p 367, the taxonomic prefix 'Aechmodus' is suggested. |
