Administrative HistoryAnnotation indicates that the drawing formed part of the research for Agassiz, J L R. 'Recherches sur les Poissons Fossiles' (1833-1843/1844), although unpublished. In the paper by Philip de Malpas Grey Egerton, "Postscript to Palichthyologic Note, No. 4" Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society, vol 10 (1854), p 367, the taxonomic prefix 'Aechmodus' is suggested.
