ProvenanceApart from the caption, there is no provenance for the drawing. It could, however, be connected to George Bellas Greenough's request in 1832, for Fellows to send in specimens and drawings of fossil fish to help Louis Agassiz's work on fossil ichthyology, published as 'Recherches sur les Poissons Fossiles' (1833-1844).
