| Description | Francis HOBLER, two monochrome ink wash drawings of an elephant limb bone from Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, with manuscript description, 13 August 1836. Caption 'A gigantic bone found in the blue clay called the plattimore on the beach at Walton on the Naze Essex, about 3 years back by Aldrich the Bath house keeper. The bone is perfect and when lifted the marrow may be heard to fall from one end to the other. |
