DescriptionPencil drawings, mostly of scenic landscapes around Dunkeld, Perthshire, attributed to John MACCULLOCH, [1808]-1822. None of the drawings are signed, but the Dunkeld series are dated. Also included is an envelope containing daily preparatory sketches from around the Conwy area in Wales, presumably as basis for a print or more detailed drawing later. This series is not dated either but has watermarks of 1808. If by John MacCulloch, he was known to be in Wales around 1810.

Archivist's note: Within this series were drawings, which from their watermark alone, preclude them from being by MacCulloch. These have been separated into a different folder. It may be that some of the others are not by him either, as one of the latter watermarked drawings (1837) has a similar drawing style to the Dunkeld series.
ProvenancePresented by Miss Estridge, December 1923.
