Date Note | The portrait bust of William Smith is likely from a batch distributed by Samuel Sharp in 1871-1872. |
Description | Two albumen photographic prints of drawings showing Charles MOORE's 'Free Museum', a room at the Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institute, Terrace Walk, Bath, [1850s-1870s], in which he displayed his fossil collection. Moore appears in one of the images, near the centre at the front beside an exhibition case. Also in the same image is a model of the Iguanodon produced by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins after his larger reconstructions at Crystal Palace and a portrait bust of William Smith. Both prints images are yellowed, one quite faded. |
