Re: Has signed the certificate for Featherston [?George William Featherstonhaugh] agreeing to his scientific ability [?for a Fellowship of the Royal Society] but is doubtful whether he can be considered a British subject, suggests Murchison seek advice as to whether there is a precedent; thanks Mrs Murchison on behalf of his children; asks for Murchison's opinion on the stratigraphy of the Transition series; has finished the Bridgewater chapter on fossil fishes, but would like information on the fossils of the Old Red Sandstone.
