DescriptionMurchison correspondence: letter from General Sir John Fox BURGOYNE, The War Office, 9 Mar 1865. Re: Following the box of bone remains which was sent from Gibraltar, sends a report explaining the particulars [not included] in which a request for a geological map of the island is referenced, believes James Smith's paper on the geology of Gibraltar published in the 'Quarterly Journal' contained one; General Frome [?Captain F Brome] plans to send another box of bone breccia home.
Administrative HistoryConfusingly Captain Frederick Brome and Major-General Frome were stationed on the island at the same time. It is therefore unclear to which man the author refers.
