DescriptionMurchison correspondence: letter from James David FORBES, Edinburgh, 11 Mar 1833. Re: Thanks Murchison for not believing that Forbes acted unkindly towards David Brewster; looking forward to the BA meeting in Cambridge, but regrets that of the BA's lack of support in Scotland compared to Oxford and Cambridge, wishes that Murchison will secure the appearance of some Foreign 'stars' for the meeting.

Administrative HistoryForbes had been canvassing for support for the Chair of natural philosophy at the University of Edinburgh. Brewster was also seeking the post, and the once close friends fell out over the matter.
