DescriptionMurchison correspondence: letter from Lady Seymour GORDON-CUMMING, Altyre House, Forres, Scotland, 11 [?May] 1842. Re: the sudden death of her mother Lady Eliza Maria Gordon-Cumming, is sending an engraving of Cheirolepis which her mother intended to, wishes Murchison to write and say whether he plans to bring out a small work on the discoveries since Agassiz's visit, asks that he takes great care over the fish drawings previously sent.

Administrative HistoryLady Eliza Gordon-Cumming collected fossils from 1839-1842, mostly from the Lethen Bar quarry. She died on 21 April 1842. The letter is dated 11 March 1842, but this is clearly in error.
