Re: has been admiring a portrait bust of Murchison which he saw at "Mrs D O Hill's" [the sculptor Amelia Robertson Hill [née Paton], second wife of David Octavius Hill]; agrees that Nicol should 'sing undisturbed'; met with Keith Johnston and is still optimistic that a Chair of Geology will be established at Edinburgh University.
